Projects & Commissions

I have a deep love for creating large macramé commissions. There’s something truly special about transforming simple fibres into intricate, tactile works of art that command attention and bring warmth to any space. These statement pieces do more than fill a wall; they add texture, depth, and a sense of artistry that instantly elevates an environment. Whether it’s a grand installation in a commercial setting or a bespoke piece for a home, large macramé designs act as stunning focal points that draw the eye and spark conversation.

Each commission allows me to blend craftsmanship with creativity, weaving together art and atmosphere in a way that feels both organic and timeless.

Take a look through some of the projects I have worked on and get in touch if you have any ideas for your own space.

Large Macramé Installation – The Chelsea Flower Show (Gold Medal Garden) For this project, I was commissioned to create a large-scale macramé installation as part of a show garden exhibited at the Chelsea Flower Show. The piece was designed to complement a lush, plant-filled garden room, which went on to win a Gold Medal. The macramé work featured bold, sculptural rope forms in vivid pink, weaving through and around the glass garden structure. It framed the space with suspended plant hangers, flowing lines, and intricate knotwork that softened the architectural edges while enhancing the garden’s vibrant, immersive atmosphere. Each element was hand-knotted to harmonize with the lighting design and the natural greenery inside, creating a striking contrast between organic textures and the vivid neon tones that illuminated the room. The installation served both a decorative and structural role, connecting the interior planting with the exterior landscape in one continuous visual rhythm. This commission was a celebration of craft, colour, and creativity — a true collaboration between contemporary design and botanical artistry.

Custom Macramé Installation for Local Glamping Site, Old Pound Smithy I was commissioned to design and create a series of large-scale macramé installations for a local glamping site, enhancing the interiors of their luxury bell tents with handcrafted textile art. Each piece was tailored to suit the aesthetic and spatial layout of the tents, combining functional design with artistic expression. The installations featured in this project included statement neon macramé structures suspended from the central tent pole, forming a draped canopy effect above the beds. The use of bright, modern cord adds a vibrant contrast to the natural tones of the canvas, creating a focal point that complements the colourful and eclectic interior styling. The commission also included a range of macramé drapes, hangings, and decorative panels designed to bring texture, colour, and a sense of craftsmanship to the glamping environment. All pieces were made from durable materials suitable for outdoor use, ensuring longevity while maintaining a soft, tactile quality. This project highlights how traditional macramé techniques can be adapted for contemporary hospitality design — blending creativity, comfort, and visual impact in a unique setting.
